Rear-Panel Connectors & Controls: Mains Power Lead (AUS/NZ 2-pin Plug. 240V AC, 50Hz, 26W) Horizontal Position Adjust Vertical Position Adjust 12V DC Input RCA Audio Input RCA Video Input Because the power consumption is 26 Watt you should use an adapter at least 2.2A for the 12V DC input. Picture source: eBay.au John Klumpp's review: "The input sockets takes a pair of RCA connectors, for mono audio and mono (composite) video. I was initially using this to view 80-column C128 displays. I did use the item with various Amiga models since it was my smallest/lightest monitor & I could double-up for displays when performing video grabs (DigiView & VidiAmiga 24 RT Pro) with the D23 port. As to the resolution it could display Amiga PAL 640x512 and went right to the corner-curves of the CRT. The unit was a handy workhorse and I tried to display NTSC VHS 50Hz at one time . . . actually viewing a shrunken image (that rolled) on it back when I had no NTSC-capable displays. Australia's analog TV is PAL 60Hz. I can testify that broadcast television looks quite strange in orange-screen monochrome!" dot pitch: 0.31 mm It seems this model was sold only in UK. The Ranger lines re-badged by AYDIN CONTROLS (UK) for Commodore UK (Aydin has also "Ranger" line: "Ranger 5015LP"; "Ranger 5021"; "Ranger 5017" and later models too). These monitors manufactured by Iiyama Electric Co., Ltd. Japan. IDEK/Iiyama own models in the "MULTIFLAT" line: "MF-5015"; "MF-5015A"; "MF-5021" and "MF-5017". These monitors are FST (Flat Square Tube). AYDIN marketed it's model (5015LP) as longer phosphor persistence, but original Iiyama (IDEK) models known as short phosphor persistence. Amiga World Magazine (Volume 9, Number 6, June 1993): "In addition to the 5017SP, IDEK makes the MF-5017LP, which uses a long-persistence phosphor. Long-persistence monitors substantially reduce interlace flicker, which may make the 5017LP the best choice to use with the 800x600 interlaced Super72 display mode. IDEK also makes the short-persistence monitor 15-inch (MF-5015) and 21-inch (MF-5021A) models." source Picture source: Mr.BomberMillzy (Amibay) |
dot pitch: 0.31 mm It seems this model was sold only in UK. This is a high-end studio monitor. The German BBoAH says this is a rebadged Aydin Ranger 5021 BBoAH link First I have seek old AYDIN and iiyama back labels, and iiyama is full different than Commodore RANGER 21 but AYDIN is really similar: So AYDIN pack its AYDIN RANGER 5021 model for Commodore. But AYDIN is a UK company but this monitor has made in Japan, and AYDIN RANGER 5021 looks full the same as IDEK Iiyama MF-5021 (BBoAH (David Ward) has written the same model number). So Commodore do business with AYDIN who sells restickered IDEK/Iiyama MF-5021 monitors. This iiyama picture I have get from PC Magazine 1992-Jan-14. Also I think Commodore (and AYDIN) RANGER 21 monitors are have sold only in UK and probably only to people buying Amiga 3000. Now clear that the manufacturer is IDEK/Iiyama and the "case design" is IDEK/Iiyama MF-5021 (21inch FST) but we would say some word about Commodore UK have no direct contact to IDEK/Iiyama but they has made deal with AYDIN UK. In the year I'm not sure because the PC Magazine 1992-Jan-14 that show MF-5021 infos shows 4 newer 21" models too. So the 1992 must be the last year for this model. Iiyama history writes: 1989 Introduced 21" FST (https://iiyama.com/gb_en/company/) So the year must be between 1989 and 1992. An Amiga World user guide from 1991 show AYDIN RANGER 5021 (http://encanta.avalonsoftware.org/idgaw/guia91/hard_equipos.php). But problem that iiyama says the resolution is 1024x768 but this guide says 1280x1280. BBoAH mention this monitor as 21inch FST as iiyama in the history 21" FST too. FST is an iiyama term that means "Flat Square Tube". |
dot pitch: 0.42 mm There is a common false belief saying that the 1083S-P1 is a SECAM monitor. This is false because 1083S-P1 have no composite or separate video input. 1083S-P1 was sold in France only to avoid the SECAM ↔ PAL color problems like connecting a SECAM Commodore 64 to a PAL monitor (SECAM Commodore 64 display greyscale picture on a PAL monitor). SECAM Commodore 64 was made for SECAM TVs. |
