	Ultrinit 2.31: - This version is ULTRAMIX compliant meaning that it will read all the mixer settings from ULTRAMIX.INI and initialize the card accordingly. - It also fixes problems concerning Windows slow down and instablity with version 2.29 - It supports GUS, MAX and ACE MIXER.EXE MIXER.EXE is a DOS mixer for use with Gravis Ultrasound and Ultrasound MAX cards. It should not be used with Ultrasound ACE, since the ACE has no onboard mixer. MIXER.EXE is ULTRAMIX compatable, which means it reads settings from and saves settings to ULTRAMIX.INI. Either the mouse or the keyboard can be used to work the controls on screen (The V4.11 driver installer contains Ultrinit 2.28a and requires Ultramix.)

	GusDrive is a small RAM-disc DOS-driver, which uses the GUS' DRAM to create a DOS-compatible RAM-disc. This new idea was developed by dATa/The CCS- Productions first and it has been released as GusDrive 1.0 before. It was the first RAM-disc of this kind, and for a sound-card ever made, though. GusDrive now has been completely rewritten and offers a lot of new features. It is written in 100% assembly language, the source code is more than 45 kbytes and over 1400 lines. GusDrive 2.00 write useful informations about your card by it's detection capabilities: GUS AutoDetect; Integrated GUS revision-detector; Autodetection of DRAM size; Integrated DRAM initializing utility to clean up the complete GUS-memory (e.g. fill with zeroes)

Windows 95/98/ME
UltraSound DOS environment for Windows 95 Drivers	DOS_ENV.ZIP	5577866 byte	1995.Mar.20.
	Before installing a Windows 95 driver you need to have your UltraSound card working in DOS (DOS mode), using software version 3.5x or later of the UltraSound software. I have ZIPped a "minimal" DOS environment (without unneeded DOS programs but with "UltraSound Patch Maker Lite" Windows program) from my working Win95 system. If this not working, download and unzip the the full DOS installer: GUS411CD.ZIP, restart your computer in MS-DOS mode and install it from there (on WinME: boot from floppy/CD or use "Real DOS-Mode Patch for Windows ME"). You should skip the Windows 3.1 part of the installation by not entering and Windows directory when prompted.

	These files set up the Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows Millennium Edition drivers for the Gravis UltraSound family of sound cards based on the GF1 chip. With this release, DirectSound support is available on UltraSound MAX cards. UltraSound ACE users should use the DirectSound capabilities of their FM sound card. Native DirectSound support is not available for UltraSound Classic cards, but some DirectSound applications will still run through as DirectSound will provide emulation through the wave driver. (It was available on ftp.gravis.com)

	Recording Session is a powerful sequencer offering standard MIDI sequencing features, as well as an editable musical notation display for Windows 3.1x (works on Win9x/ME/NT4/2000/XP too). (The GUS Classic/MAX driver CD contain a MidiSoft installer for Sound Impression and Recording Session (together). Sound Impression not so good for Win95 and laters but the Recording Session is really good. I have installed them and I have ZIPped the Recording Session directory. Installation not needed. I have just tested on my WinXP.)

	Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (known by the acronym ALSA) is a Linux kernel component intended to replace the original Open Sound System (OSS) for providing device drivers for sound cards. Led by Jaroslav Kysela, the project started from a Linux device driver for the Gravis Ultrasound sound card in 1998, and was developed separately from the Linux kernel until it was introduced in the 2.5 development series in 2002 (2.5.4-2.5.5).

I have ZIPped a "minimal" DOS environment (without unneeded DOS programs but with "UltraSound Patch Maker Lite" Windows program) from my working Win95 system. If this not working, download and unzip the the full DOS installer: GUS411CD.ZIP, restart your computer in MS-DOS mode and install it from there (on WinME: boot from floppy/CD or use "Real DOS-Mode Patch for Windows ME"). You should skip the Windows 3.1 part of the installation by not entering and Windows directory when prompted.

If this not working, download and unzip the the full DOS installer: GUS411CD.ZIP, restart your computer in MS-DOS mode and install it from there (on WinME: boot from floppy/CD or use "Real DOS-Mode Patch for Windows ME"). You should skip the Windows 3.1 part of the installation by not entering and Windows directory when prompted.

	Before installing a Windows 95 driver you need to have your UltraSound card working in DOS (DOS mode), using software version 3.5x or later of the UltraSound software. I have ZIPped a "minimal" DOS environment (without unneeded DOS programs but with "UltraSound Patch Maker Lite" Windows program) from my working Win95 system. If this not working, download and unzip the the full DOS installer: GUS411CD.ZIP, restart your computer in MS-DOS mode and install it from there (on WinME: boot from floppy/CD or use "Real DOS-Mode Patch for Windows ME"). You should skip the Windows 3.1 part of the installation by not entering and Windows directory when prompted.

(The GUS Classic/MAX driver CD contain a MidiSoft installer for Sound Impression and Recording Session (together). Sound Impression not so good for Win95 and laters but the Recording Session is really good. I have installed them and I have ZIPped the Recording Session directory. Installation not needed. I have just tested on my WinXP.)

	Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (known by the acronym ALSA) is a Linux kernel component intended to replace the original Open Sound System (OSS) for providing device drivers for sound cards.
